MADISON (WKOW) -- A Sun Prairie man was arrested for burglary after returning to the home he had purchased items from days earlier.
Dane County Sheriff's deputies arrested 67-year-old Manual Alvarez Wednesday after responding to a burglary in progress on Vance Drive in the town of Pleasant Springs.
According to a police report, the deputies were called to the home around 11:50 a.m. after a female resident said she was startled by a man entering her bedroom. She told police the man turned and fled when he saw her. The victim was able to provide deputies with a physical description of the suspect, as well as a description of his vehicle.
Shortly after, Sheriff's Office detectives were quickly able to make contact with Alvarez, who admitted to breaking into the home.
After further investigation, it was revealed that Alvarez had been to the property just days prior to the burglary in response to an ad on Craigslist to purchase vehicle parts.
Alvarez was arrested for Burglary, Possession of Burglary Tools, and Criminal Trespass to a Dwelling. He is currently being held in the Dane County Jail.
