SOMERS, Wis. (AP) -- Chancellors at 10 University of Wisconsin campuses have been awarded salary raises ranging from $6,000 to $10,500 apiece.
The proposal would also mean possible salary increases for other top officials.
The Wisconsin State Journal reports the proposal would shift the midrange salary targets for top UW System officials and campus leaders by an average of 17.5 percent, expanding the upper and lower ends of the pay scales for those jobs and giving Regents more flexibility in deciding salaries.
The new ranges would mostly apply to new hires, and not existing administrators.
Under the proposal, the position of president would pay between $399,000 and $598,500. The outgoing president makes $414,000.
