JANESVILLE (WKOW) -- Daniel Bellard was found not competent to stand trial during a hearing Thursday in Rock County Court.
The Janesville Gazette reports two doctors found bellard, 75, to be incompetent and the court ordered an emergency detention to Mendota Mental Health Institute in Madison.
Bellard, of Plymouth, is accused of shooting and killing his 59-year-old neighbor, Christine Gestrich, in February.
Court records show he faced a first degree intentional homicide charge.
