CAMBRIDGE (WKOW) -- Dane County Sheriff's deputies have arrested four young men after numerous businesses and government buildings in Cambridge were vandalized October 9.
The men are all being held in the Dane county Jail on one felony count and 17 misdemeanor counts of criminal damage to property. Two of the men are from Cambridge, Brian McGrail (21) and Samuel Poirior (19); Cody Vieth (20), Jacob Jameson (20), are both from Madison.
Wednesday night, the men used spray paint to vandalize a middle school, fire department, streets department, a park pavilion, and several local businesses. All four were taken into custody around 5:30 Thursday evening.
The felony charge comes from the more than $2500 in damage the men did to a local church which had recently been remodeled. Preliminary damage estimates are between $5,200 and $5,300, however deputies are continuing to do follow-up with victims today, which may result in additional claims.
Investigators in Madison also tied Vieth, Jameson and Poirior to vandalism in the Warner Park area. Property damage in those cases is in the thousands of dollars. Police say they will be referring charges of criminal damage to property to the Dane County District Attorney.
