VERONA (WKOW) -- A New Glarus man was arrested for his 5th OWI offense after an injury car crash.
According to the Dane County Sheriff's Office, about 1:00 a.m. on Saturday, Dane County Sheriff's Office Deputies, along with the Verona Police and Fire Departments and Fitch-Rona EMS were dispatched to Range Trail approximately three-tenths of a mile north of Sunset Drive, in the Town of Verona, for a one car injury crash.
A 1989 Oldsmobile Delta 88 was in the ditch against a tree with an adult man standing near the car bleeding from his face.
Before the arrival of the emergency responders, the injured driver had ran away. The Fitchburg Police Department sent out a K-9 unit to assist. The driver, 33-year-old Stephen Foster of New Glarus was arrested for his 5th OWI offense.
Foster lost control of his car and then hit a tree.
He was admitted to the UW Hospital.
