MADISON (WKOW) -- Wisconsin health officials urge residents to ignore misconceptions about flu shots.
State Health Officer Dr. Henry Anderson says it is unfortunate that misinformation could prevent people from protecting themselves and others around them from getting the flu. Anderson says there is no time like now to get a flu shot.
According to Anderson, while the flu shot is not 100 percent effective, it is the best way to protect against getting the flu.
The flu season is unpredictable. It can begin early in the autumn and last into spring. The State Department of Health Services urges people to get vaccinated now.
