MIDDLETON (WKOW) -- On Sunday the Middleton community showed its support in the fight against cancer.
Gilda's Club, a cancer support center in Middleton, hosted its 6th Annual Gilda's Run. Over 1,200 people attended and could chose to run a 5K and 10K, or walk two miles. Funds from the event go straight to Gilda's Club Madison, with the final goal of providing emotional and physical comfort to those suffering from cancer.
"Everyone's here because they either know someone who's going through the cancer journey or they themselves are going through the cancer journey. And it's all very inspiring, I think, for the entire community," says Sandy Henshue, the Fundraising Coordinator at Gilda's.
The race finished at Gilda's Clubhouse in Middleton where people were treated to burgers and ice cream.
