BARABOO (WKOW) -- Authorities say the body of a missing man was pulled from the Baraboo River Sunday afternoon.
According to the Sauk County Sheriff's Office, the body of 57-year-old Frank Shimniok was found just south of Rock Springs off County Highway DD, near where Shimniok went missing on October 6.
Sheriff's officials say a relative notified them about Shimniok's disappearance. The caller reported that his uncle attended a wedding on October 5 and was going to walk home after the reception. The family told authorities they searched the path he would have taken home and found his hat and glasses. Authorities launched a search effort in the following days.
The dive team was called to the scene to help pull out the body Sunday. Shimniok's death remains under investigation.
