WASHINGTON (WKOW) – Three days and counting until the country runs out of money and isn't able to pay its bill and there is no agreement to solve either one of those problems.
The effort has shifted to the Senate where Democrat and Republican leaders are in the talks. Although they met yesterday and didn't approve much, many say the talks have the promise of finding a solution.
Majority Leader Sen. Harry Reid says, "I'm confident the Republicans will allow the government to open and extend the ability of this government to pay its bills. It's the height of hypocrisy to not pay our bills."
As the debate continues, many lawmakers on both
sides agree on one thing, that an agreement will be reached.
