MOUNT PLEASANT (WKOW) – A Racine woman who lived in a hotel for more than nine years has been evicted and is now looking for a new home.
Jana Ganjian says she didn't plant to stay at the Racine Marriot in Mount Pleasant for so long but the hotel provided valuable services she couldn't get anywhere else.
Ganjian says, "I had no vision of staying for nine and a half years, but with no family, no longer with a home, the hotel became home and the staff became family."
Ganjian can no longer afford the $89 a night rate and has been told she must move out by October 24.
The hotel claims Ganjian owes more than $28,000. Her lawyer says the next step is to find Ganjian subsidized housing.
