MADISON (WKOW) -- Eight organizations in southern Wisconsin are working together this weekend as part of the ASPCA's Mega Match-a-thon this weekend.
Each cat or dog adopted between October 18th and 20th will receive a free leash, collar and ID tag. Some groups are also running specials on adoption fees.
Dane County Humane Society was chosen as one of 38 recipients by the ASPCA to receive about $280,000 in grants to host Mega Match-a-thon events. DCHS invited other organizations to participate.
Last year more than 6,100 pets were adopted during the Mega Match-a-thon weekend.
