EAU CLAIRE (WKOW) -- A new state requirement may put a stop to checks for some of Wisconsin's unemployed.
As of Sunday, new unemployment applicants who are required to search for work will also have to register with the Job Center of Wisconsin's website at jobcenterofwisconsin.com.
If they don't do that, they won't receive their benefits check.
Steve Blodgett of the Eau Claire County Job Center says, "They can register in about 15 minutes. They can come into our job centers if they need help. They can do the online registration at home and do it themselves. They can go to public libraries or they can call our 1-800 number and with assistance through the phone they can register that way."
Applicants will also have to upload a resume and create a job-match profile.
The profile is used to pair companies with eligible job seekers.
