BLUE MOUNDS (WKOW) -- Several cows were killed in a semi rollover crash on Highway 18/151 Tuesday night.
According to the Dane County Sheriff's Office, the driver said the load of cattle he was hauling shifted, causing the semi to rollover near Highway E in the town of Blue Mounds.
Several of the cows got loose and caused a traffic hazard. Both east and westbound lanes of 18/151 were closed while authorities attempted to round up the loose animals.
Some of the animals were killed.
Deputies on scene say the driver was treated at the scene.
MOUNT HOREB (WKOW) -- Part of Highway 18/151 is closed near Mount Horeb because of a semi rollover.
The crash happened around 8:20 p.m. on 18/151 at County Highway E. All lanes of southbound 18/151 are blocked.
The Dane County Communications Center says the driver was hurt. There's no word on the extent of injuries.
The Wisconsin State Patrol says traffic is being diverted at Highway 78.
