APPLETON (WKOW) -- A standoff in Appleton involving a man and two babies ended peacefully late Tuesday night.
Both 6-month-old children have now been reunited with a parent. Appleton police say the standoff started around 3:30 p.m. on Tuesday after reports an armed man, in possession of two young children, was threatening to kill himself.
The SWAT team responded immediately.
About five hours later, the man placed the infants in their carriers and put them on the porch for police to take them. The 34-year-old man didn't surrender until 10:30 p.m. and was taken to a medical facility for protective hold.
