MILWAUKEE (WKOW) -- Two Milwaukee firefighters went before the Fire and Police commission Thursday night to ask for their jobs back.
The pair had been fired from their department after being accused of vandalizing the station. Nine firefighters total were suspended earlier this month for vandalizing Engine Company 32, but only Joseph Siegert and Nathan Fager were let go.
A fire official with the station said it was because the two were on probation and subject to the chief's authority to terminate without cause.
Sources say the group trashed the station because many of them were to be transferred to other units. The other seven firefighters remain on paid suspension.
