FLORIDA (WKOW) – A teenager in Florida is looking for a family after bouncing between foster homes his entire life.
Davion Only has spent his whole life in foster care just waiting to be adopted by a loving family. Now that he is 15-years-old, he has decided to take matters into his own hands. He stood up in a church and made an open plea for adoption, refusing to give up hope that there is a place for him in the world.
Davion told the congregation that he'll take anyone, whether they are old or young, or black or purple. He doesn't care who takes him in, as long as he finds a family to love him forever.
Now his plea is being heard around the world and people are encouraging him to keep going. As a teenager, Davion knows he is at an age where he is not an adopting parents' first choice, but he promises to be the best version of himself.
Davion says, "I just want people to love me for who I am. Just to grab me and keep me in their house and love me no matter what."
Davion says staying positive and hopeful is what keeps him on his search for somebody to love. So far, more than 500 people have called Davion's case manager asking to be his family.
