MADISON (WKOW) -- A former state worker was sentenced to probation for buying personal items with state money.
44-year old James Hoey pleaded guilty Friday and received 3 years probation and 20 days in jail.
Hoey also has to repay the state.
Authorities say he used a state purchasing card to buy cameras, printers and other equipment for himself while working for the Department of Corrections.
Hoey was an information technology worker with the department.
The complaint also alleges Hoey bought himself a MacBook laptop using his state purchasing card.
Hoey quit his job on March 28.
