MADISON (WKOW) -- Dozens of kids celebrated Halloween a little early Saturday at Dane County Humane Society. They got to put on their costumes early too, for the 6th annual Haunted Woods Trail.
Organizers offered up a less-scary version of the trail for the younger visitors. "All our characters are in costume, but they're not really in character, so they pay attention to the kids' reactions," Wildlife Rehabilitation Supervisor Brooke Lewis says.
The Haunted Woods Trail benefits Four Lakes Wildlife Center. Last year they raised $7,000 but they're hoping to meet or exceed that this year. The trail will be open again next weekend.
