MADISON (WKOW) -- Families got together this weekend for the 12th annual Buddy Walk in Madison.
The event raises money for the Madison Area Down Syndrome Society. The organization focuses on reaching out to local parents caring for children living with Down Syndrome.
"We are celebrating my daughter and it's a celebration for everybody," says Andrew and Harper Bohacea. "She's the kindest, most gentle person I've ever known. She has such a positive attitude."
Money raised at Saturday's Buddy Walk also goes toward building a "Gigi's Playhouse" in Madison. It's a place for kids with Down Syndrome to learn and develop. Organizers hope to have it up and running in Madison by early 2014.
27 Storm Track Meteorologist Brian Olson was emcee at the Buddy Walk.
