UPDATE: Baraboo woman found dead in car identified


BARABOO (WKOW) -- Officials have released the name of the young woman killed in a Baraboo crash Saturday night.

According to the Sauk County Sheriff's Office, Jade M. Myrick, 19, was found alone in a car that was crashed into a tree on Hogsback Road in Baraboo. 
The Baraboo woman was pronounced dead at the scene.
Myrick was not wearing a seat belt. Authorities believe alcohol is not a factor in the crash, but speed may have contributed.

BARABOO (WKOW) -- Authorities are investigating a crash that killed a female driver.

According to the Sauk County Sheriff's Office, a caller reported finding a vehicle crashed into a tree around 8 p.m. Saturday. The caller could not see anyone around the vehicle on Hogsback Road, east of Mirror Lake Road in the town of Baraboo.

A deputy discovered a female driver was trapped inside the vehicle. Authorities say the 19-year-old Baraboo woman was pronounced dead at the scene.

Officials believe speed to be a factor in the crash. The driver was also not wearing a seatbelt.

The crash is still under investigation.
