UPDATE (WKOW) -- The owner of Minhas Craft Brewery tells 27 News the fire has been extinguished. 

A fire broke out around 2:30 Thursday afternoon on the third floor of the building.  A company was using spray foam insulation when it accidentally combined with some of the chemicals in the brewery, which immediately ignited a fire.

Fire and police were on the scene within minutes and were able to get everyone out of the building.  No injuries were reported.

Crews remain on the scene searching the building for any flare ups.  The building remains quite smokey.


UPDATE (WKOW) -- Minhas Craft Brewery says everyone who was inside the brewery when the fire broke out got out safe and sound.

The brewery posted the update on its Facebook page.

The Monroe Fire Department also confirms that no injuries were reported.

Firefighters say they were called to the brewery around 2:30 p.m. Thursday for the report of a fire coming from the third floor of the building. Crews requested aid from several neighboring fire departments.

The Monroe Fire Department is encouraging everyone to stay out of the area because a number of streets are closed off due to the fire.


UPDATE (WKOW) --- The Monroe Times is reporting that the fire at Minhas Brewery started when the machinery being used by some contractors to spray foam insulation caught on fire.

Green County Scanner says the following are responding:

Juda, Monticello, South Wayne, Albany, Brodhead, Freeport IL, plus multiple police and ambulance teams.
