Multi-county crime spree suspect found incompetent to stand trial

LANCASTER (WKOW) --- The man accused of a two-day, three-county, crime spree has been found incompetent to stand trial in Grant County.

A Grant County judge made the decision finding 36-year-old James Kruger not competent, according to Grant County Clerk of Courts.

In October, Kruger pleaded not guilty by reason of mental disease or defect.

The charges in regards to Monday's Grant County case include armed robbery, kidnapping, and attempted homicide.

Kruger faces 16 charges in Grant County, as well as charges in Dane and 22 charges in Iowa County.
