Two injured after three semi trucks collide in Dodge Co.


TOWN OF HERMAN (WKOW) -- Two people were injured in a traffic accident Wednesday morning at the intersection of State Highway 33 and County Highway P in the township of Herman.

The Dodge County Central Communications received several 911 calls shortly after 11:00 a.m.  Three semi tractor-trailers were involved in the crash, injuring two of the three drivers.

A semi traveling northbound on P struck another semi, which was carrying a large roll of steel, traveling westbound on Highway 33.  The steel roll came off the trailer and was estimated to be in excess of 25,000 pounds.  The third semi was traveling eastbound and collided with the roll of steel.

The driver of the eastbound semi was taken to Froedtert Hospital with serious or critical injuries.  The northbound driver was transported to Hartford Hospital with non-life threatening injuries.  The third semi driver was uninjured. 

Names and ages are being withheld at this time.

Assisting the Dodge County Sheriff's Office were Wisconsin State Patrol Troopers and Inspectors, Dodge county Highway Commission, Dodge County Emergency Management, Washington County Sheriff's Department, DCERT, Allenton EMS, Hartford EMS, Mayville and Theresa EMS, and the Allenton Fire Department. 

This accident remains under investigation by the Dodge County Sheriffs Department, in cooperation with the State Patrol Inspectors.
