"Good" Samaritans pull gun on man changing flat tire

MADISON (WKOW) -- A 28-year-old Madison man went to the aide of a friend when she ended up with a flat tire near New Washburn Way and S. High Point Road Wednesday night.

The man was working on the tire when a car pulled up behind them.  Two men got out and asked if the man needed assistance.  He declined.

The "Good" Samaritans then went back to their vehicle, but the passenger returned with a gun.

The victim states the man said nothing when he approached.  When the man saw the weapon, he armed himself with the tire iron and told his female friend to contact police.  That's when the suspect ran back to the vehicle and fled.

The victim told police he wasn't sure if this was an attempted robbery or if the men were upset at being told their assistance wasn't needed.
