MADISON (WKOW) -- The Wisconsin Capitol Christmas tree was lit Thursday morning, with Governor Scott Walker presiding over a low-key lighting ceremony.
The 30-foot balsam fir features ornaments made by school children across Wisconsin.
Christmas tree growers, as well as the women who quilted a new skirt for the base of the tree, were there for the event.
The tree stands in the middle of the Capitol rotunda, surrounded by other displays.
