UPDATE: State senator out of hospital after snow-related crash

MILWAUKEE (WKOW) -- Kathleen Vinehout's husband says she's been released from the hospital after a car accident Sunday.

The state senator has multiple fractures in her right arm. Douglas Kane said Monday Vinehout "seems to be doing quite well."

Vinehout, a Democrat from Alma, is considering running for governor next year. She was hurt Sunday morning in a crash because of snowy weather in the Racine area. She was originally scheduled to hold a meet-and-greet with supporters.

Kane says his wife is expected to be in Eau Claire Monday where she'll have surgery on her arm.

MILWAUKEE (WKOW) -- State Sen. Kathleen Vinehout was injured in a multi-vehicle accident in the Milwaukee area, according to her campaign Facebook page.

The post says, "Kathleen's vehicle was involved in a multi-car accident on I-94 near Racine this morning. She is currently receiving care at a local hospital. If more details become available we will do our best to let you know."

Vinehout was in southeast Wisconsin for scheduled appearances in Racine and Kenosha, but those events were canceled because of the weather.
