Search warrant turns into a life saving call

FITCHBURG (WKOW) -- Friday, a search warrant was being issued at a residence on Greenway Cross in Fitchburg when EMS was called.  The would-be suspect was found unresponsive inside.

The Dane County Narcotics Task Force and Fitchburg Police were executing that warrant, as part of an ongoing heroin investigation involving 55-year-old Robert Bonner.  When authorities entered the apartment, Bonner was found lying on the floor unconscious.

Officers immediately began life saving efforts and called Fitchburg EMS.  Paramedics administered Narcan and Bonner was then transported to UW Hospital.

Several items were seized related to the ongoing investigation.

In 2012, there were 21 heroin related deaths in Dane County.
