SPRINGDALE, Ark. (WKOW) -- Jared Abbrederis' college career had humble beginnings, but it is ending with a trophy in his hands. The Badger receiver won the Burlsworth Trophy on Monday.
The Burlsworth Trophy honors the top player in the nation that began his career as a walk-on. The senior from Wautoma began his collegiate career as a scout team quarterback. He quickly blossomed in to one of the best receivers in Wisconsin history.
Abbrederis is second all-time in school history with 23 receiving touchdowns, 197 catches and 3,110 receiving yards. He caught 73 balls for 1,051 yards and seven touchdowns this season. Abbrederis was a first-team All-Big Ten selection.
