MADISON (WKOW) -- The recent departure of George Marshall from the Wisconsin basketball program has opened a door for Bronson Koenig. Head coach Bo Ryan believes the light is turning on for his prized freshman.
"He's picked up in every area. The game was probably a little quicker, a little stronger in the beginning when you're looking at it. He knows now he can compete. He's ready to get more. I like hungry people."
The highly recruited guard out of La Crosse is plenty hungry after scoring just 3.2 points per game in just 15.3 minutes per contest.
"I guess I haven't been playing up to my standards and everything. I've always been taught to never be satisfied with my game and everything and I'm just trying to get better and learn as much as I can every day."
Koenig is slowly earning more minutes and more trust from his head coach. Eventually, he is hoping to direct the Badger offense. For now, he is learning from the veterans and staying hungry.
