Rash outbreak at local elementary school

ADAMS COUNTY (WKOW) -- Tests are underway to find out what's causing a skin irritation in students and staff at an elementary school in Adams County.

It started last week and now at least 12 students and 3 to 4 teachers at Adams-Friendship Elementary have shown symptoms.

Those symptoms include hives, rashes and itchy skin.

The school's principal says they've cleaned the rooms several times since the irritation's first appearance, but more cases keep popping up.

He says the district is working with the county health department and an environmental specialist to identify the cause.
