UPDATE: Armed robbery at Copps on Whitney Way


MADISON (WKOW) -- Police are looking for the man they say robbed a bank branch inside the Copps grocery store on Whitney Way.


Investigators say the man walked into the store around 4:45 p.m. and demanded cash from the Associated Bank. He got the money and fled on foot.

Madison police brought in a K-9 to track him down, but they couldn't find him.

Officers describe the man as 6'1'' with an average build. He was wearing a black ski mask, sunglasses, gloves and a green jacket. Police say he was carrying a plastic bag that was white and red.

No one was hurt.


MADISON (WKOW) -- Police are investigating an armed robbery at the Copps grocery store on Whitney Way.


The Dane County Communications Center says it received a call around 4:45 p.m. about the robbery. Officials say there are no reports of any injuries.

Our photographer on scene says officers are using a police dog in an effort to find the suspect or suspects.

The Madison Police Department confirms officers are investigating the robbery, but had no other details to release at this point.
