Ice rinks in Madison open for skating

Posted:

MADISON (WKOW) ---- It is a sign of the cold weather.  Ice skating rinks in Madison are opening Friday.

Madison Parks say this is the earliest outdoor rinks have opened in years.

We found crews on Friday clearing the snow from the Tenney Park Ice Rink.

Other rinks open include Elver Park, Hillington Triangle Park, Heritage Heights, Rennebohm Park, Olbrich Park, Vilas Park, and Westmorland Park.

Concessions are not open until Saturday, so if you are headed out Friday you should take your own skates.
