VERONA (WKOW) -- Saturday morning, police chased a suspect from Verona to Lafayette County for over an hour.
Just before 3 a.m., Verona Police officers found a vehicle suspected of being involved in recent thefts and traffic violations. Police tried to stop the vehicle, but the driver led police on a pursuit for about 60 miles.
Road spikes were deployed in Lafayette County. The vehicle eventually stopped on Highway 11. The driver ran away, but he was found and taken into custody.
43-year-old David Colombo of Loves Park, Illinois was arrested for knowingly fleeing a traffic officer.
Authorities are still investigating the recent thefts.
UPDATE (WKOW) -- Dane County Communications confirms that the car chase that had started in Verona came to an end.
Police caught the suspect a little after 4 a.m. this morning.

The chase started on Highway 78 and is on-going. The car is headed towards the Illinois state line. Jo Davies County in Illinois is aware of the car chase.
Vehicle is reportedly on its rims. Spikes were used by law enforcement near Argyle. Units from Dane, Lafayette, Green and Iowa counties have responded to the car chase. Stephanson and Jo Davies counties in Illinois are on the look out with ISP.
