MADISON (WKOW) -- Investigators say a fire that burned a Wausau hotel over the weekend likely started with an electrical problem.
The fire forced guests to evacuate the Days Inn Saturday night. Those guests were taken to another hotel.
Police say flames engulfed the west end of the hotel, collapsing the second floor in that area. One man was taken to the hospital after complaining of chest pain. He was later released.
Investigators learned a bathtub had overflowed for an extended period of time on the second floor earlier in the day, in the same area where the fire was later discovered.
