COLUMBUS (WKOW) -- Around 11:00 Monday morning, the Columbus Police Department received a call about suspicious activity on S. Birdsey Street. The caller was able to provide a description of people involved and the vehicle.
An officer quickly responded and within just a few minutes of the call, he was able to conduct a traffic stop on a vehicle matching the description. The occupants, a man and woman, also matched the descriptions of those involved in recent burglaries in Dodge County and possibly Columbus.
The driver, a 21-year-old woman, and her 32-year-old male passenger were taken into custody on suspicion of burglary. Both reside in the City of Juneau in Dodge County.
Assisting in the investigation were the Columbia County Sheriff's Office, Mayville and Waupun Police.
The two were booked in the Dodge County Jail pending multiple charges of burglary and attempted burglary. Columbus Police are also anticipating referring charges of burglary to the Columbia County District Attorney's Office.
