Skowronski wins special Assembly election

GREENDALE (AP) -- A Republican has retained the state Assembly seat vacated by Jeff Stone in suburban Milwaukee.

Ken Skowronski defeated Democrat John Hermes in Tuesday's special election. Skowronski is an alderman in Franklin, while Hermes is president of the village of Greendale.

Stone resigned in October to take a job as head of the state Public Service Commission's water division.
