SUN PRAIRIE (WKOW) -- A new clothing resource in Sun Prairie works directly with schools and social workers to help students and their families during the holiday season.
The student-run organization provides winter clothes to people who are in need. The Sun Prairie community comes together to give hats, mittens, coats and other warm clothing to families who can't afford it.
C.A.R.D.S Closet says there is no paper work and the recipients stay anonymous. C.A.R.D.S Closet stands for Community, Awareness, Resource, Development, and Services. They strive for a 24 hour turn around for families. The organization says they need room to grow. Right now, they're operating out of a small storage space in Sun Prairie.
Student organizer, Alexis O'Connell says she's inspired by the community and the positive feedback. C.A.R.D.S Closet says they're always looking for donations. Warm clothes for winter, formal clothes for interviews and shoes are needed in the community.
If you are able to donate, volunteers will pick up your donations at your home or office. To schedule a pick up time call (608) 825-8382 or you can email email@example.com.
