Madison Streets Division says they did prep work Thursday ahead of the precipitation, applying salt brine to the main roads.
Madison Streets Superintendent Chris Kelley tells 27 News his division will have 30 trucks salting the streets and 2 trucks sanding them until midnight. That's when a shift change will occur and 32 crews will take their place on the road.
Kelley says crews will concentrate on the city's main traffic arteries, but will also tackle hills, curves and intersections in more residential areas if needed. He says the temperature is warm enough that the salt will work perfectly on the roads. However, certain areas will still be quite slippery Friday morning.
