MADISON (WKOW) -- The water main that broke Friday morning on Madison's east side has been repaired and water service is fully restored at Acewood Boulevard, according to a spokesperson for the Madison Water Utility.
Crews are now beginning sinkhole and road repairs.
The main break led to road buckling and a sinkhole.
MADISON (WKOW) -- Most people living in the neighborhood around a large water main break now have water service restored.
All customers, except those in the 900 block of Acewood Boulevard, have water now. The 900 block of Acewood has been valved off for repairs, which will probably take several hours.
MADISON (WKOW) -- Crews are working to isolate a very large water main break on Madison's east side.
The break is on Cottage Grove Road at Acewood. The break is at the intersection of two 8-inch mains. Customers in the immediate one or two block area are currently without water.
We have reports that part of Cottage Grove Road is beginning to buckle because of the break, so stay clear from the area if you can.
Crews say the break is isolated and they expect to have water back on for affected customers within an hour, but repairs to the broke water main will likely take much of the day.
