MADISON (WKOW) -- Early Saturday morning, a 23-year-old male student was attacked.
According to UW-Madison Police, around 2:15 a.m., the student was walking with a group on North Frances Street when a suspect from another group punched him without warning.
The suspect is described as a Hispanic male in his 20's. He is about 5' 8" and around 180 pounds. He has short dark hair with a thin outline style beard. The suspect was wearing a white jacket with horizontal blue stripes, and a yellow stripe with gray shoulders and sleeves. He was also wearing dark pants and white athletic shoes.
The suspect ran away to a parking ramp. Officers searched around the area, but they could not find the suspect.
The UW-Madison Police Department is investigating the case. Anyone with information is encouraged to call the UW Police at 608-264-COPS.
The victim required stitches after the assault. UW-Madison students and staff received an e-mail about this incident.
