Declared snow emergencies


MADISON (WKOW) -- The City of Madison has declared a snow emergency.

Madison residents need to move all vehicles from the street if possible.  Residents who must park on the street Sunday night should park on the ODD house numbered side of the street.  Monday evening, vehicles that need to be parked on the street should do it on the EVEN side.

The snow emergency will be in effect until at least 7 a.m. on Tuesday.

Madison residents should know that all daytime parking restrictions will be enforced.

Alternative parking is available in the cashiered sections of the City ramps downtown.  During the emergency, you will not be charged to park at the City ramps from 9 p.m. until 7 a.m.  Do not park on the top level if you plan on leaving your vehicle there overnight.

In addition, parking is available at the Brittingham Park Shelter off of W. Washington Avenue.


MONONA (WKOW) -- Mayor Robert Miller has declared a snow emergency for the City of Monona.  The snow emergency will last from 9 a.m. Sunday until 7 a.m. Monday.

There is no parking on the city streets.  All parking lots in Monona are available as alternative parking.


VILLAGE OF BARNEVELD (WKOW) -- The Village of Barneveld has issued a snow emergency effective from midnight Sunday until midnight Monday.  No parking permitted on Village streets during the snow emergency.


JANESVILLE (WKOW) -- The City of Janesville has declared a snow emergency effective at 6:00 AM on 12-22-13. Vehicles need to be off the roadway until the snow is plowed to the curb.


SUN PRAIRIE (WKOW) -- The City of Sun Prairie declared a Snow Emergency beginning at midnight on Sunday until 7 a.m. on Monday.

There is no parking on any City street when snow reaches three inches in depth or greater until the emergency is canceled.

Vehicles parked on the street can be ticketed and may be towed.


STOUGHTON (WKOW) -- The City of Stoughton declares a snow emergency for midnight on Sunday, December 22.

That means it is in effect from midnight to 8 a.m. from Sunday until Wednesday unless canceled or extended.


FORT ATKINSON (WKOW) -- The City of Fort Atkinson has declared a snow emergency.  The snow emergency will be in effect at 2 a.m. Sunday and last until 6 a.m. Monday.


BELOIT (WKOW) -- The City of Beloit has declared a Snow Emergency from 6 p.m. Saturday until 1 a.m. on Monday.  Street parking is not allowed during these times.

Vehicles should be parked in a driveway or in an approved off-street parking lot.

The list of designated parking lots are listed below.

  • Krueger Park Upper Parking Lot (east lots only) on Hackett Street and House Street
  • Krueger Golf Course Lot (south lot) at 1611 Hackett Street
  • Wootton Park (south end) on 4th Street at Maple Avenue
  • Riverside Park Rotary Center (two center row between signs) at 1220 Riverside Drive
  • Riverside Park Jones Shelter
  • Angel Museum at 656 Pleasant Street
  • Iron Works South Parking Lot (west side of lot) on 3rd Street & Grand Avenue
  • Fourth 4th Street Public Parking (center island between signs) on west side of 4th Street
  • West Grand Public Parking at 229 West Grand Avenue
  • Telfer Park Parking Lot on 2100 Cranston Road

The Police Department may ticket or tow vehicles that are parked in areas that are not designated or parked on the streets.


PORTAGE (WKOW) -- The City of Portage has canceled a previously declared Snow Emergency.

The 24-hour Snow Emergency hotline can be reached at 742-2176 Ext. 335.


MCFARLAND (WKOW) -- The Village of McFarland has issued a snow emergency from midnight on Sunday until 7 a.m. on Monday.

No vehicles will be allowed to be parked on any Village street during those times.  Alternative parking is available at Municipal Center, McFarland Public Library, and the parking lot located at Exchange Street and Farwell Street.
