UPDATE: Beloit police arrest suspect of parking lot shooting

UPDATE (WKOW) -- Beloit Police confirm they have arrested a suspect in the shooting that happened in a parking lot early this morning.

Police have arrested 29-year-old Thamar Keithern Harper of Janesville for first-degree attempted homicide.

The shooting happened on Broad Street around 2 a.m.  Two people had sustained gunshot wounds.  Both victims have non-life threatening injuries and were taken to the hospital.

Anyone with information regarding this crime is still encouraged to call the Beloit Police.


BELOIT (WKOW) -- Beloit police officers were in a parking lot when they heard several gunshots.

According to the Beloit Police Department, it happened on the 300 block of Broad Street about 2:00 a.m. on Sunday. Two people sustained gunshot wounds while in the parking lot. Both victims have non-life threatening injuries. They were taken to the hospital.

The incident remains under investigation.
