BELLEVILLE (WKOW) -- Alliant Energy is reporting the power is back on to everyone in Green County affected by this morning's outage.
Dane County still has a handful of customers out; less than 30. There are also a few new outages listed in Grant County as of 6:30 a.m.
Some people told us the outages were very disruptive on a cold December morning, where the overnight temperature was below zero. Homes in the area were down to about 52 degrees because the outage lasted for several hours.
BELLEVILLE (WKOW) -- Crews are making progress on power outages in Green and Dane Counties.
About 1350 customers in Green County are still without power. It's still about 1500 in Dane County as of 5:30 a.m.
BELLEVILLE (WKOW) -- Thousands of people are without power overnight in Green and Dane Counties.
Alliant Energy is reporting about 3200 customers without power in Green County and 1500 without power in Dane. The Green County Sheriff's Office says there is a problem with one of American Transmission Company's high transmission lines. Some people reported to the sheriff seeing a flash of light in the sky.
Crews are trying to pinpoint the exact source of the outage, but Green County officials say the towns of Belleville, New Glarus, and Monticello are affected. Dane County officials say the outages may extend into the Verona area.
