House explodes in Milwaukee

MILWAUKEE (WKOW) -- Officials are investigating the cause of a house explosion early Sunday morning.

Fire and police say the home is a total loss and two others were also damaged. Two people suffered from smoke inhalation.

A neighbor, who didn't want to be identified but spoke with our Milwaukee affiliate WISN-TV says she and her young son were sleeping early in the morning when she heard a popping noise from outside and looked next door.

"The house was already in flames and I already knew my house was going to catch fire because the way the flames were so big and there was stuff falling towards this way to that side of the house," says the neighbor.

Many people on the street say they can't believe what happened.

The investigation into the cause of the explosion is still ongoing.
