ROCK COUNTY (WKOW) -- Due to this week's extremely cold temperatures, Rock County is opening warming shelters in several locations. 

The Rock County Sheriff's Office is working in coordination with the American Red Cross, St. John's Lutheran Church of Beloit, and The Overflowing Cup of Beloit to provide overnight warming facilities for those in need in the Beloit area.  Meanwhile, residents in Janesville should continue to utilize local shelters currently available during the extreme temperatures. 

SHELTER INFORMATION – OVERNIGHT AND DAYTIME WARMING LOCATIONS 

BELOIT – St. John's Lutheran Church 
Overnight Facility

Effective Shelter Hours: 
7:00 pm to 8:00 am

The  Rock County Sheriff's Office is still looking for local organizations to help citizens during difficult times. For organizations that would like to participate as future shelter locations or provide emergency assistance to citizens during extreme temperatures and local emergencies, call the Rock County Sheriff's Office – Emergency Management Bureau at 608-758-8440.
