Two kids injured in snow collapse

CHIPPEWA FALLS (WKOW) -- Chippewa Falls authorities say a heavy pack of snow fell onto the roof of a shed where two young children were playing over the weekend, crushing them both and leaving them unable to breathe for several minutes.

WEAU-TV reports 10-year-old Nelson Nolt and 7-year-old Norma Nolt were taken to the hospital in serious condition.

The kids were playing Saturday afternoon on a skid steer parked in a shed, when a heavy layer of snow slid from an adjacent barn onto the shed roof, causing it to collapse onto the vehicle's cab.

When their father found them, the children didn't have pulses and weren't breathing for more than 10 minutes.
