Winter Weather Advisory in effect for several southern WI counties

MADISON (WKOW) -- The snow has tapered off earlier than expected and the Winter Weather Advisory is now only in effect for Rock and Walworth Counties in the WKOW viewing area.

The Winter Weather Advisory issued earlier for Iowa, Dane, Lafayette and Green Counties is now cancelled as of 10:30 p.m. Tuesday. The advisory is still in effect until 6:00 a.m. Wednesday for Rock County, including Janesville and Beloit.

The Winter Weather Advisory for Walworth County will remain in effect until noon on Thursday.


MADISON (WKOW) -- A Winter Weather Advisory is in effect for parts of southwestern Wisconsin.

The advisory is in effect for Crawford and Grant Counties until Midnight, for Dane, Green, Iowa, Lafayette and Rock Counties until 6:00 a.m. Wednesday and for Jefferson and Walworth Counties until 6:00 p.m. Wednesday.

A storm system will produce mainly light snow Tuesday night and Wednesday. The Madison area will get 2-3 inches of snow, with 1-2 inches to the north and 3-5 inches south.

Thursday and Friday will be quiet, but cold. Saturday will bring more light snow and milder, seasonable temperatures.
