Plane damaged on landing at Milwaukee airport

MILWAUKEE (WKOW) -- A plane was damaged as it landed on a runway at Mitchell International Airport on Wednesday.

Our Milwaukee affiliate WISN-TV reports the Delta flight made a hard landing because of mechanical problems.

Passengers say the plane's brakes locked and caused several tires to blow out.

"I kind of thought that the runway was under construction, they picked the wrong one because it was two really, really hard jolts right away and then they threw on the brakes and everything was kind of shaking around," says Christopher Nobbe who was on the plane.

All flights were on hold for nearly two hours while maintenance crews cleared snow off another runway. No injuries were reported.
