Medical examiner: Man found hours after crash died as direct result of accident

MADISON (WKOW) -- The Dane County Medical Examiner's office says a man killed in a crash early Monday morning died as a direct result of the accident.

He's been officially identified as Brad L. Turbyfill, 31, of Madison. Turbyfill's family had previously confirmed to 27 News he was the victim in the crash. Police originally said he was from Cottage Grove, but the medical examiner lists him as living in Madison.

The Wisconsin State Patrol says Turbyfill was driving on I-94 when his vehicle left the road and rolled end-over-end. Turbyfill was thrown from the vehicle. Troopers say the accident happened sometime overnight, but wasn't discovered until about 7:00 a.m. that morning.

The Dane County Medical Examiner's Office says Turbyfill did die as a result of the crash, but additional testing is underway.
