Teen calls police after road rage incident on the Beltline

MADISON (WKOW) -- A Janesville man and his female passenger were arrested New Year's Day for a road rage incident on the West Beltline Highway.

A 19-year-old Madison man stated he was merging from Stoughton Road onto the Beltline when the suspect's passenger, Leslie Weil (51), threw a handful of change at him through his open driver's side window.  The victim decided to follow the truck and pulled up near the suspect's window when he saw the driver, Bernard Richards (42), point a weapon at him.

The teen immediately backed off and contacted police.

Officers were able to locate the truck and both Richards and Weil were arrested.  Richards faces charges of second degree reckless endangerment, possession of a firearm by a felon, disorderly conduct while armed, and carrying a concealed weapon.

Police recovered a handgun from inside the cab of the truck and located a knife inside Weil's handbag.  She denied tossing change and told police the teen had cut them off and gave the middle finger.  She faces charges of disorderly conduct and carrying a concealed weapon.
